Dear Parents and Caregivers

School Cross Country

Thanks to all of the parents who helped out with marshalling and cooking sausages on Monday. Our Cross Country was very successful with the weather holding off well. Children competed in windy conditions but all ran well with most completing their races. It was great to see the determination that some children had to complete the whole course. Well done all of you.

Special thanks to Mr Burne for his fine organisation of this event. It is a big task to get everything set out and to make sure that the events run smoothly.

Interschool Cross Country Team

12 & Over: Amanda (R8), Jessica (R5), Abby-Jane (R8), Stacey (R5), Haana (R5),  Xavier (R5), Joshua (R5), Chris (R5), Billy (R8) and Fin (R8).

9 Years & Under: Macey (7J), Zara (7J), Ella (7F), Olivia (7F), Grace (7J), Callum (7J), Tyler (R4), Cody (7J), Jamie (7F) and Jonty (R4).

The team is selected from the first five placings in each event and therefore provides the results for yesterday’s races. We do not record placings in the Juniors but children were given a  number on their hand in order of finishing.

The Interschool Cross Country will be held at Lake Station out at Flemington, this Thursday, 9th September. Our team will travel out by bus leaving here at 10.30am. The first race will start at 12.00pm. Team members need to return their permission slips which were sent home on Tuesday.

Parent Interviews

These will be held on Thursday, 23rd September from 1.00pm until 7.30pm. You will be sent an appointment time next week. We ask that parents / caregivers make arrangements for their children to go home at lunchtime, 12.20pm, on that day. The only bus that will run at that time will be the Scallywags van. If you have difficulty making arrangements for your children please contact the school office.

Student portfolios will be sent home prior to the interview. Please bring these to the interview as they will form the basis for discussion about your child’s learning.

Rooms 4, 9 & 2 Move In

On Thursday and Friday of last week Rooms 4 & 9 moved into their new classrooms. Room 9 is now located in the old Room 1 and Room 4 is in the old Room 2 as they are the largest rooms.

On Monday, Room 2 moved into the old Room 3. All of the new rooms are bright and colourful and have Interactive Whiteboards and an office for the teacher to work in during release times.

Even though classes are in different rooms they will retain their current room number until the end of the year.

Welcome to New Students

Room 7J makes the BIG time

Miss Jamieson (7J) was very surprised and excited on Friday to learn her class’s sock puppets had made the latest edition of the “Your Home and Garden” magazine.

Miss J got the idea of making sock puppets from this magazine and thought they would like to see the fantastic puppets made by her class.
